Welcome to WMS Aquatics' AFO Certification Course - affectionately known as "Pool School".  We’re very excited to be hosting these courses again, and we’re glad you’ll be joining us!

WMS Aquatics provides in-person AFO Certification Courses, hosted in our hometown of Ellensburg, right in the heart of Washington state.

Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) is the premier certification program in swimming pool operations. The AFO program provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date training for pool operators and includes information on water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical systems, operations, healthy pools and safety.

WHEN: we offer two opportunities per year to attend - every April & October.

CEU's (Continuing Education Units): Course pre-approved for 1.5 CEUs.

CERTIFICATION COURSE: $350.00 per registrant. 

  • Cost includes: Registration, Instruction, AFO Manual & Study Materials, Test, Certificate, and Catered Lunch both days.

RECERTIFICATION EXAM ONLY: $125.00 per registrant.

  • *Current certification cannot be expired at the time of exam.
  • CEUs not applicable.
  • The exam will take place on day two, beginning at 2:00pm.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to check in and collect exam materials.

COURSE SCHEDULE: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with lunch from 12-1 pm (both days).

EXAM: the exam is open-book, pencil/paper, and administered by the AFO Instructor on day two. Results are provided immediately.

CLASS CAPACITY: currently accepting up to 20 registrants for the course.  If you're looking for Recertification Only, and find you are unable to register, give us a call.  We may be able to squeeze you in!

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • 3+ months prior to course: full refund.
  • 1-2 months prior to course: 50% refund.
  • Within 30 days prior to course: NO refund.

DISCLAIMER: Candidates sitting for the AFO Certification Exam must be 18 or older and have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
